Cantor’s Driving School gives private, one-on-one, on-the-road driving lessons 7 days a week. Door-to-door service is provided – we pick you up and we drop you off at your school, work, house or apartment.

*IMPORTANT BOOKING OUT NOTICE FOR ARIZONA*

Due to high demand, our driving school has become the top-rated choice in the Phoenix and Tucson metropolitan areas. After-school and weekend driving lessons are usually booked four to five weeks in advance in the Phoenix metropolitan area, but cancellations do occur, creating openings for lessons. In the Tucson metropolitan area, we are booking one to two weeks in advance. For the most current availability, please call our office Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at 480-482-1900 or check our online scheduling system. You’ll need to select a training package and create an account to view the openings, after which you can purchase your preferred package. Additionally, instructor calendars for December 2026 will be available starting October 7th, 2026, as we typically release schedules two to three months in advance.

Policies

These policies apply to driver training services offered by Cantor’s Driving School. By using our services, you are accepting these terms and conditions. Please read our policies.

Package Payment Policy: All packages require full payment for the entire package before scheduling. You can register, pay and schedule online, or call our office (480-482-1900) during office hours to pay, register and schedule over the phone if you prefer.

Refund Policy: If a refund is requested after the purchase of lessons or packages, a $40 administrative fee will be deducted to process the refund. Please note that no refunds will be issued after one year from the date of purchase. Once a refund is processed, it typically takes 5 to 10 business days for the charge to be credited back to the credit card used for the purchase.

Lessons Cancellation: 48 hours notice is required to cancel a driving lesson without penalty. Driving lessons are conducted in rain/inclement weather. If you cancel with less than 48 hours notice for any reason, including weather, there will be a $90 charge for rescheduling.

Rescheduling Policy: We understand that unexpected situations can arise, leading to lesson cancellations. Rescheduling may take several weeks as we find suitable time slots. Additionally, if unforeseen issues occur on our end, such as instructor illness or vehicle problems, we will do our best to reschedule lessons as quickly as possible.

Lateness Policy: If you arrive late for your driving lesson, the session will still conclude at the originally scheduled time. Unfortunately, any lost time will not be made up, as we adhere to a strict schedule to accommodate all clients. Please ensure you arrive on time to make the most of your lesson.

No-Show Policy: The instructor will wait for 15 to 20 minutes for your scheduled lesson. If you do not arrive within this time frame, the lesson will be marked as a no-show. In this case, you will incur a $150 charge for rescheduling, or the lesson will be forfeited altogether. To avoid these penalties, please make every effort to arrive on time.

Permit/License Requirements: If a student does not have a valid Arizona Learner’s Permit, Driver’s License, or International License during their scheduled driving lesson, the lesson cannot take place. In this scenario, the student will be charged a $150 fee to reschedule the lesson, or they will forfeit the lesson entirely.

Policy on Passengers During Driving Lessons: At Cantor’s Driving School, we do not allow parents, siblings, or friends to sit in the back seat during driving lessons. This policy helps minimize distractions for both the driving instructor and the student, ensuring a focused learning environment. Additionally, it complies with insurance regulations that require a limited number of occupants in the vehicle.

Impaired Policy: If an instructor suspects that a student is under the influence of illegal drugs, alcohol, or is highly medicated on prescription drugs, or falling asleep to the point of being unsafe, they will immediately halt the lesson. In this case, the lesson will be considered a complete forfeit. This policy ensures the safety of all participants and maintains a conducive learning environment.

Certificate of Completion: After 4 lessons/10 hours of behind-the-wheel driving lessons are completed, Cantor’s Driving School will issue a Certificate of Completion. This may be helpful with car insurance; check with your provider.

The MVD Road Test Waiver: This policy outlines the requirements for students completing their final evaluation with Cantor’s Driving School. Students under 18 years of age must hold their Arizona learner’s permit for six months from the issue date on their permit before they can pick up their license at the MVD. In contrast, students who are 18 years of age or older can retrieve their licenses at any time after passing the final evaluation. It’s important to note that the information uploaded to the MVD after a student’s successful evaluation is valid for only one year from the date of upload.

Please Note: Late cancellations or lessons cancelled due to no-show or no permit/license result in a loss of income to instructors and our driving school that cannot be recovered otherwise.

Time Slots for Driving Lessons

Driving lessons on Monday to Friday are typically from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM, and 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM.

Driving lessons on the weekends are typically from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM, and 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM.

Skip the Long Wait at the MVD!

Final Evaluation as Part of the Green Light Package or Extra Mile Package

As an authorized Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) Motor Vehicles Division (MVD) contractor, Cantor’s Driving School can administer the Final Evaluation instead of students taking the road test at the ADOT MVD. A Final Evaluation can only be given after at least 10 hours of behind-the-wheel driver training with an ADOT MVD approved driving school.

The driving trainer determines if the student is qualified and possesses the necessary driving skills to pass the evaluation. Upon demonstrating adequate driver independence, and successful completion of our Final Evaluation, the student receives a Training Completion Certificate (TCC), also called a Road Test Waiver. This TCC can be presented with an application for an Arizona driver’s license to waive the Road Test at any MVD or Third Party Provider location. Successful completion of our 10 hours of driving lessons and a passing score on the road skills evaluation is required before an ADOT MVD Road Test Waiver will be issued.

It is the student’s responsibility to go to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) to have the TCC (Road Test Waiver) processed and get his/her driver’s license. View the ADOT MVD locations and hours to select a location.
