The Arizona Department of Transportation (DOT) Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) oversees and administers all motor vehicle services, including licensing of new drivers. Check the following web pages on the Arizona DOT MDV website for important information:


Arizona Learner’s Permit Information

As of March, 2018, learner’s permit applicants between the ages of 15½ and 17 years old can take the written drivers’ test online as an alternative to taking the test in-person at the AZ MVD or third party test facility. The name of the online testing program is Permit Test @ Home. The Permit Test @ Home must be supervised by a parent or legal guardian, and requires the same $7 application fee that is charged for in-person tests. In-person testing is still available for all applicants and is the only option for applicants that are 18 years old and over. Below are some useful links to information about learner’s permits:
